Bluewake Outboards

Last updated: 03 – 05 – 2025

This Outboard Warranty Policy applies to all Yamaha, Suzuki, Tohatsu, Mercury, and Honda outboard motors (“Outboards”) sold by Bluewake Outboards.
All outboards supplied by Bluewake Outboards are brand-new, genuine manufacturer products sourced exclusively through authorized distributor networks.

Bluewake Outboards does not issue its own warranty.
All warranty rights and coverage come directly from the manufacturer.

1. Manufacturer Warranty Only

Each outboard motor is covered by the official manufacturer’s warranty, which protects against:

  • Defects in material

  • Defects in workmanship

  • Internal component failures caused by manufacturing issues

Warranty periods vary depending on brand, horsepower, model series, and region.

Bluewake Outboards honors and supports all legitimate manufacturer warranty claims but does not expand, alter, or override OEM terms.

2. Warranty Duration by Brand

Warranty periods differ by manufacturer. Below are the typical coverage periods:

Yamaha Outboards

  • 3-year factory warranty (standard)

  • Up to 5 years in certain regions or during promotions

Suzuki Outboards

  • 3-year factory warranty for standard recreational use

  • Some regions offer 5- or 6-year extended warranties

Tohatsu Outboards

  • 3-year standard warranty

  • 5-year recreational warranty in selected markets

Mercury Outboards

  • 3-year limited warranty

  • Up to 5 years with promotional or extended coverage

  • Commercial use usually has shorter coverage

Honda Marine Outboards

  • 5-year manufacturer warranty (industry-leading)

  • Requires proper registration and installation

Important:
Exact warranty periods depend on model, category, region, and registration. The warranty certificate or manufacturer website provides the definitive terms.

3. What the Warranty Covers

The manufacturer warranty covers defects related to:

  • Internal mechanical component failure

  • Engine block and internal moving assemblies

  • Gearcase and drivetrain (when failure is due to internal defects)

  • Electrical components against manufacturing faults

  • ECM and ignition components where defective

Repairs must be performed by an authorized service center of the respective brand.

4. What the WarrantyDoes NOT Cover

The manufacturer’s warranty does not apply if issues are caused by:

  • Improper installation

  • Non-authorized technicians performing service

  • Lack of cooling water / overheating

  • Running aground, collision, impact damage

  • Fuel contamination, water in fuel, ethanol-related issues

  • Using non-OEM lubricants or parts

  • Corrosion from improper care or saltwater neglect

  • Modifications, tuning, or aftermarket ECU changes

  • Improper propeller matching or overloading

  • Failure to follow maintenance schedule

Outboards must be installed, serviced, and maintained by certified marine professionals to retain warranty validity.

5. Warranty Registration

Warranty registration is completed through the manufacturer or authorized dealer network.

To activate coverage:

  • Provide correct owner information

  • Provide engine serial number(s)

  • Submit proof of purchase

  • Confirm installation details where required

Warranty is valid only after the registration is successfully completed and accepted by the manufacturer.
